North Carolina - Prehistoric Shark Tooth Dive
Date: July 28–Aug 1 & July 31- Aug 4, 2012
Twenty miles off of North Carolina’s shore is a treasurer of a prehistoric kind. There is a vein of megalodon teeth resting a few inches below the sand. The Megalodon or Megatooth was a giant shark that lived between 5 million - 1.6 million years ago. The Megalodon is known only from fossil teeth, which are similar to great white shark teeth. Some estimates of this creature's size range up to 80 feet.
This trip is not your usual ‘pretty reef’ adventure. We are excavating in 80-100ft of water using ping pong paddles or underwater scooters to move the sand. Because of the depth, you should be Nitrox certified to maximize bottom time. Only five divers and a group leader go on each trip.
Two trips are planned and reservations are already being made. If you are interested, please contact us as soon as possible.
These trips will sell out!
