Master Diver Certification

Description
Master Diver Certification

If the cold water has dampened your enthusiasm for diving, then head into our warm classroom to expand your knowledge of the sport. Master Scuba Diver picks up where the Advance Class and Basic Certification left off. You’ll perfect skills learned in Advance class (u/w navigation, deeper dives, low visibility challenges) plus review and expand upon an array of subject matter covered in basic certification.

It is said that Master Scuba Diver should be the goal of every diver. This is the class that truly expands your understanding and skills of diving. Master Diver consists of 24 hours of academic studies with the emphasis on participating on dive that apply the knowledge covered in class.

The information presented in the academic sessions increases your knowledge of equipment, the environment, physics, physiology and decompression.

The water work skills increase your abilities and confidence as a diver. Some skills are repeats from Advance Diver classes only you will be expected to perform them at a greater degree, i.e. the Deep Dive will be deeper, the Underwater Navigation patterns will be more intricate and must be performed at a higher competency level.

Master Diver is a must for anyone wishing to become a dive instructor.

Overview & Pre-requisites
Subjects include:

Search and Light Salvage:

Have you ever been asked by a friend to bring up a lost underwater object? In the Master Diver class, you will learn how to perform search patterns to locate an object and then how to bring it to the surface via lift bags. Diving Physics is covered in Master Diver. Many of you find physics challenging if not daunting, but this class will teach you easy-to-understand formulas for practical applications of light salvage.

Deep Diving Techniques:
Communication, equipment modification and buoyancy control are essential when diving deep. Other factors include temperature changes, breathing resistance, reduced light, possible narcosis and decompression issues. In Master Diver, you will learn how to handle all these factors. We will also expand your knowledge on Decompression and Recompression, the prevailing theories of nitrogen loading and the appropriate techniques used for adjusting your dive.

Rescue & Emergency Procedures:
Diving is among the most enjoyable of the adventure sports. However, accidents can occur. The object of Master Diver is to reduce the risk of injury by recognizing potential problems before they occur. Rescue tows and emergency procedures will be reviewed.

Limited Visibility and Night Diving:
If you’re from Michigan, you know all about limited visibility diving. But this subject also includes night dives, cavern/cave dives and hunting for artifacts in silt conditions. It can be challenging and yes, enjoyable. Prepare yourself for low visibility diving by being 100% comfortable and familiar with your gear plus understand the essential additional equipment needs for this type of diving.

Dive Equipment:
As a certified diver, you are familiar with basic scuba gear. As a Master Scuba Diver you will broaden your scope to include specialty equipment such as dry suits, lift bags, underwater cameras, etc.. You’ll also gain a better understanding of dive computers, regulators, compressor systems, etc.

Before Entering this Class...
