Regulators and Buoyancy Compensator Vests:
- Manufacturers: We work on Aqua Lung, Scubapro, Atomic, Apex, Sherwood, and Mares equipment.
- Labor Charges: $30/hour - billed in 15 minute ($7.50) increments. A complete overhaul of a first stage, primary second stage and octopus regulator averages between 1-2 hours depending on the corrosion and how dirty it is.
- Parts:
- Limited Lifetime Warranties:
To extend a Limited Lifetime Warranty on a piece of scuba equipment, you are responsible for having it serviced yearly (+/- 30 days from the date of purchased). Labor cost is not covered under the warranty; however, most internal parts are free of charge, which will save you significant money! Please review the warranty terms and requirements as they vary greatly from manufacturer to manufacturer. Include proof of warranty documentation when you bring in an item for servicing. Without proof, you will be responsible for the cost of all replacement parts.
- Non-Warranty Items:
The majority of replacement parts come from manufactures in a ‘kit’, for example a Aqua Lung Titan Regulator will have a first stage kit AND a second stage kit. First stage kits can cost $20-$40 depending on the manufacturer and model. A second stage kit for primary and octopus systems runs $12 - $27 each. Neither kit includes replacing hoses our mouthpieces which are done on an as need basis.
- Older Equipment:
In 1943, Jacque Cousteau and Emile Gagnan invented the first regulator. If you purchased a reg shortly after that period, please don’t expect us to service it. Seriously, any system that is 1970’s vintage or older is 30-40 Years Old and it is Your Life Support! Now is the time to retire it. I know what you’re thinking….. ‘I don’t dive that much.’… ‘It’s always served me well in the past.’….. ‘Nothing has ever gone wrong with it before.’ And again I will say to you, a regulator is your life support and after 30 years of usage, it’s time to put it to bed. If you can’t afford a new system then rent one until you can. It is far cheaper to rent a regulator than trying to breathe life into an antiquity. Besides, repair parts for obsolete equipment are hard to find and trained technicians for such systems are even harder to find.
