About Us - Our Staff
Instructor Dawn Brennan
D.I.C. (Dawn In Charge) Dawn was certified in 2001 through SASS at our K-College location. She quickly expanded her knowledge with our Underwater Photography, River Diving, and of course Master Diver, Advance and Rescue Diver courses.
Spanning the globe, Dawn had been to an array of destinations: Palau, Curacao, Hawaii, Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, Isle Royale, Mackinaw, Alpena, Bonne Terre Mines, Grand Cayman, St. Marteen, Saba, and St. Eustatius. Her favorites to date are Palau for warm water diving and Isle Royale for cold water diving.
When asked why she became an instructor, her reply "Well, for the instructor discounts, of course! Okay for real...I enjoy teaching/showing new people what a fantastic sport it is. It's also great to see the excitement of new divers when they first learn to dive. What's best about diving...great people and great vacations! (and also bragging rights for seeing the coolest things underwater and making my non-diver friends jealous!)
Why did she decide to take up scuba? "When I was 13, I went to Hawaii. My mom told me that I could choose one activity to try like parasailing or horseback riding, but I chose diving. So...10 years later I got certified for vacation in Grand Cayman. Unfortunately, Hurricane Michele decided to make an appearance. I did get a few dives in and was hooked!"
