Quick Fact
What is one of the largest, yet one of the most elusive creatures in the ocean? Architeuthis, The Giant Squid.
This giant squid can grow up to over 40 feet long. With unvalidated reports up to 60 feet. It feeds on other squid, fish, and anything else it can get it's tentacles on! It's main predator and enemy is the Sperm Whale. Epic battles rage between these two giant creatures at incredible depths reaching 900-3000 feet, resulting in scars often seen on the whales. Lucky for us divers, these guys live in the deepest parts of the oceans!
